This policy explains how refunds are handled for Host Genie services.

Important Notice: Due to the nature of digital services, refunds are limited and subject to the terms below. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

General Policy

Due to the nature of digital services, refunds are limited and subject to the terms below.

Key Principle: Most digital services are non-refundable once delivered or activated, unless otherwise specified in this policy.

Hosting Services

  • Hosting plans may be eligible for a refund within 7 days of initial purchase.
  • Refunds do not apply to renewals or upgraded plans.
  • Accounts suspended for policy violations are not eligible for refunds.
  • Refund requests must be made before the 7-day period expires.

⚠️ Note: If you've used more than 50% of your allocated resources or violated our Terms of Service, you may not be eligible for a hosting refund.

Domain Registrations

  • Domain registrations, transfers, and renewals are non-refundable.
  • Domain fees are paid directly to registries and cannot be recovered.
  • Once a domain is registered in your name, the transaction is complete.

Registry Policy: ICANN and ZACR regulations do not allow refunds for domain registrations once they are processed.

Website Design & Custom Services

  • Deposits for custom work are non-refundable once work has commenced.
  • Completed work is not refundable.
  • Partial refunds may be considered for incomplete work, at our discretion.
  • All custom work requires a signed agreement before commencement.

⚠️ Important: Review all project specifications and requirements before approving work to commence. Changes after approval may incur additional charges.

Add-ons & Third-Party Services

  • Email hosting, SSL certificates, and QR code services are non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
  • Third-party products and licenses are subject to their respective refund policies.
  • Once activated, most add-ons cannot be refunded.

Third-Party Licenses: Software licenses, themes, and plugins are typically non-refundable as per developer policies.

Refund Processing

1 Submit Request

Email your refund request to sales@hostgenie.co.za with your account details and reason for request.

2 Review Period

We review your request within 3-5 business days to determine eligibility.

3 Approval & Processing

Approved refunds are processed within 7–14 business days via the original payment method.

Processing Time: Refunds may take additional time to appear in your account depending on your bank or payment provider.
